HELP!

I need help. I finally figured how to change the background, but now it is hard to read. So I need to know how to put a background that runs down the middle. I can not figure it out. I have tried and tried. If someone reads this would you please leave a comment and let me know how to do it so I can quit spending hours on the computer. Thanks.
